Mother In Law Pakora

  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • Water, as needed
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Mother In Law hot sauce


  1. In a large bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala, and salt.
  2. Add tamarind pulp, green chilies, cilantro, and onion to the dry mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add water while stirring until the batter has a thick consistency.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with mint chutney and Mother In Law hot sauce.
